The New School Year
Our school year begins on Tuesday, August 26th. I am typing this on the Sunday before. It is early and no one is around. The building smells “new”. O.K. it is not the “new car” smell, but it is the smell of floor sealer and wax that I smell. It is “new” because every year for the last 18 years that is the smell I associate with the preparation for the new school year!
What is new about your upcoming school year? Is it new classes to be taught for the teachers? Is it new teachers that the students will be having? Is it new clothes or a new building or even a new school? Comment on what is new this year:
New… well new for me is the new teacher Miss P. It is that new teaching method I will be taught by. The new responsibilities I have now that I am older. The feeling of not knowing what the new day will bring to the table. New is not knowing where I will be after TSL. New is the feeling of not knowing the future.
