Change
Two days of school are over and it has been filled with interesting observations!! When you teach in a school where you see children from 5th grade and 6th grade and then you have them in 7th and 8th grade, it is extremely fun to watch their personalities on the first days of school.
Some students are so excited to be back and start another year that they just can’t hide it! Some are excited, but they try to contain themselves because they believe, or their friends believe, that school isn’t cool. Some students are consciously trying to change and they are not anything like they were last year. Some students have matured physically and mentally and they have no choice in the change and they are trying desperately to adjust.
Have I changed as a teacher from last year? If I want improvement out of my students from one year to the next, then I am sure they want me to improve from one year to the next. Did I change teaching methods and strategies? Do I focus on the students and not on how I think things should be taught? Do I change with the times?
The one thing that will never change is God’s Word. I must make an effort every day to include God’s Word in all of my classes. That is what makes school meaningful. Otherwise teaching is just stuff and drivel that someone says is important. The most important thing is the one thing needful…Faith, trust, confidence that Jesus is the only way to salvation…he has done it all for us…not because we earned or deserved it but because of his grace
Change for the better!!!
